Hearing Tests

in Victoria BC

Our clinic provides comprehensive hearing assessments for a range of purposes, including diagnostic testing for ENT consultations, baseline hearing evaluations, hearing rehabilitation, and more. We use advanced equipment to measure pure-tone thresholds (including extended high frequencies), speech and speech-in-noise understanding, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), and acoustic reflexes.

Hearing Tests for Adults

Appointment Duration: 60-90 minutes

Recommended for Adults who:

  • Are over the age of 50 and have not had a hearing test before

  • Have concerns about their hearing

  • Work in loud noise

  • Are a musician or attend loud concerts

  • Have the following health conditions: diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease

  • Have been referred by a physician for a hearing test

  • Require a hearing test for ear, nose, and throat consultation

  • Interested in discussing hearing loss treatment options

A diagnostic hearing test includes:

  • A comprehensive review of your hearing health history and any hearing concerns

  • Tone and speech testing to assess your hearing abilities

  • Middle ear and inner ear measurements

  • A detailed review of the results with personalized recommendations based on your assessment​

Hearing Tests for Children

Appointment Duration: 60 minutes

Recommended for Children who:

  • Have speech-language delay

  • Have repeated ear infections

  • Family or teachers have concerns about their hearing

  • Have difficulty following auditory instructions

A diagnostic hearing test for your child includes:

  • A comprehensive review of your child's hearing health history and any hearing concerns

  • Tone and speech testing to assess your child's hearing abilities

  • Middle ear and inner ear measurements

  • A detailed review of the results with personalized recommendations based on your child's assessment​

Ototoxicity Hearing Tests

Appointment Duration: 60 minutes

Recommended for:

People referred by a physician who are going to be taking medications that are known to cause hearing loss

Ototoxicity Testing Includes:

  • A comprehensive review of your hearing health history, medications, and any concerns

  • Extended high frequency tone testing and speech testing to assess your hearing abilities

  • Middle ear and inner ear measurements

  • A detailed review of the results 

  • Personalized monitoring plan

  • Report back to your referring physician and other members of your healthcare team
