Referrals for Adults & Seniors
​
Audiology services (including hearing aids) for adults and seniors are not covered by MSP. ​
(Exception: Hearing instruments and associated repairs and supplies are available under the Employment and Assistance Regulation and Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation. For more information visit their website.)

Referrals for audiology services, despite not being covered by the provincial health care plan, offer valuable benefits for both patients and physicians.
A referral ensures we understand your specific concerns and goals, and facilitates clear communication and effective collaboration for the best possible care for our mutual patient.

Referrals for Children (Ages 5+)
Pediatric audiology services (ages birth to 19 years 11 months) can be accessed through public health on Vancouver Island, with some services covered by MSP. For more information about Island Health's Hearing Program, visit their website.

Children in low-income families may be eligible for hearing aids through the Health Kids program. For more information visit their website.
Referrals for audiology services accessed privately are not are not covered by the provincial health care plan, and will incur out-of-pocket expenses.
