Spring Cleaning: It's for more than just your house!

When was the last time you had your hearing aids deep cleaned?

Regular cleaning and maintenance of your hearing aids is important for not only their performance, but also their longevity!

Did you know the average lifespan of a hearing aid is five years?

An in-house clean and check ensures that your hearing aids are free from wax, dirt, debris, and moisture, which can cause both short term and long term issues. Buildup in your microphones or receivers can prevent sound from being picked up or amplified properly, which can make your hearing aids sound weak or even broken!

What Happens During a Hearing Aid Clean & Check?

During a routine clean and check, we perform a comprehensive maintenance service to keep your hearing aids working at their best. This includes:

  • Replacing essential components such as wax guards and domes

  • Carefully removing wax, moisture, and debris from microphones and receivers using specialized tools and suction equipment

  • Inspecting the devices for any signs of wear or damage

  • Running the hearing aids through a professional-grade dehumidification system to reduce internal moisture

  • Performing a listening check and basic function test to ensure optimal sound quality

No appointment is needed to have your hearing aids cleaned and checked. We offer clean and checks on a drop-in basis, and recommend you bring both your hearing aids and charger for a thorough clean and evaluation from one of our staff.

We recommend dropping in for a routine clean and check every 6 to 12 months. You are also welcome to drop in if your hearing aids ever suddenly stop working properly. While you're here, we can provide any supplies you're running low on, such as domes and wax guards.

Regular maintenance not only helps preserve sound clarity, but also extends the lifespan of your hearing aids and reduces the likelihood of unexpected issues.
